COLLAGE
Recently, I've decided to pick up my drawing and painting skills that had lain dormant for many years. During a class in collage, I found a medium that incorporates not only my photography, but drawing, and painting, as well as paper collage.

I often start with an images I’ve photographed earlier. I alter them with a Photoshop filter which drops out a lot of detail and abstracts them. I make a print then use the print as a base for my collage work—drawing, painting, and adding cut up pieces of my previously rejected art or photography.

Photography
My photography often reminds people of painting. This is because it's an outgrowth of my painting and my eye for design and color. For many years my subject matter has been floral still lifes with light reflections and shadow patterns. To bring more movement and action to my subject I have worked with digital montage techniques. The work displayed here is the result of this loosening up. These images combine floral still lifes and home settings with textural patterns and shapes to create a sense of abstraction.
